www.wired.com/threatlevel/2011/07/manning-lamo-logsThese chat logs show that Manning was SO human in an environment where inhumanity is praised. He's lured into a false sense of security where Adrian (the person who turned the chat logs over to the authorities, which lead to the arrest) tells him that he's a fellow hacker, fellow whistleblower for French documents, and that nothing Manning says will be printed or shown to anyone. Manning opens up about his entire life in these chat logs, to someone he barely knew. This was directly after a breakup, and Manning was having gender identity issues, so he was very emotional OF COURSE, especially after reading all of the information that he had found. I can relate to this guy so much, he reminds me of numerous friends of mine and is about my age. This conversation really gives an insight into his life and his state of mind at the time. It literally made me cry! He said that he didn't care if he spent the rest of his life in prison or even got executed, he just didn't want the world to remember him as a male. But he put himself aside to bestow this gift of raw information, which makes him admirably noble.
